Miss Mount Pleasant 2023 Results

On January 28th, 2023, we held our first Miss Mount Pleasant competition and crowned a new Miss Mount Pleasant and Miss Mount Pleasant's Outstanding Teen! Hundreds of dollars were awarded to various women from across the state!

Mariah Martinez, 21, was crowned Miss Mount Pleasant 2023 on January 28th, 2023 at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.


She received a $200 cash scholarship as well as an official MAO crown, sponsored by Portable Playlist DJ & Karaoke, an official MAO sash, sponsored by Cooper Designs, a beautiful bouquet of flowers from From the Heart Flowers and Gifts, free state headshots from Say Uncle! Photography, state prep help from The Teen Queen Collective, a free spray tan from MC Beauty + Skin, 15% off at Jocelyn Taylor Bridal and Prom, a custom tote bag from Triple 3 Designs, and much more.


Mariah will now go on to represent Mount Pleasant at the Miss Iowa Scholarship Program in June 2023.


Mariah is from Davenport, Iowa and is a Junior at Upper Iowa University. Her career ambition is to be an Elementary Principal. Mariah performed an original monologue as her talent and her Social Impact Initiative is titled "Leading Girls Through L.O.V.E." Mariah is the daughter of Tonya Smith and Mike Martinez.

Elizabeth Maine, 18, was crowned Miss Mount Pleasant's Outstanding Teen 2023 on January 28th, 2023 at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Elizabeth is from Wapello, Iowa and is a Senior at Wapello High School. Her career ambition is to be a High School Math Teacher and Dance Coach. Elizabeth performed a musical theater dance solo as her talent and her Social Impact Initiative is titled "The Key to Life: It's in Your Blood." Elizabeth is the daughter of Melissa and Shawn Maine.

Miss Mount Pleasant is an official preliminary to the Miss Iowa program. Miss Mount Pleasant is an open competition. To compete, candidates must live, work, or attend school in Iowa.
